jacob@ebcoh.com

Jacob formally began his career with EBC at the age of 18, getting his Life & Health insurance license and completing Selerix's case build training in Dallas. He worked full-time with EBC throughout the duration of college in the positions of Case builder, Small Case Implementation Manager, and Executive Staff Assistant. In these positions, he assisted leadership in all business aspects- preparing enrollment training materials, managing enrollment staffing, scheduling enrollments, attending benefit fairs, maintaining staff licenses, leading the benefit implementation process on small cases and building benefit administration systems on the Selerix BenSelect platform.

After gaining a bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2017, 5 years in a full-time position and working his way up the ladder of Enrollment Benefit Concepts- Jacob was promoted to Vice President of Business Development. In this capacity he manages internal operations, enrollment logistics, and new business opportunities. His primary responsibility is focused on developing and retaining carrier/ broker relationships and constantly enhancing EBC’s value proposition to increase EBC’s revenue stream. This is done through his focus on best practices and modernization in the enrollment industry (voluntary benefits, benefits administration technology, public/ private sector benefits trends).

When Jacob is not innovating EBC’s strategies, he can be found spending time or travelling with his fiancé, Kelsey, and 2.5-year-old daughter, Lily, or enjoying a round of golf with his friends/ family.

WHAT I’VE LEARNED ON THE JOB:

Be a sponge. It is pertinent to absorb everything possible in order to advance and strive in every field of work.

THEME SONG THAT SUMS UP MY LIFE:

“Pursuit of Happiness” by Kid Cudi has a chorus that really echoes in my life: “I’m on the pursuit of happiness and I know / Everything that shines ain’t always gonna be gold / I’ll be fine once I get it, I’ll be good.” These lyrics reassure me that while the road may get bumpy, I’m eventually going to surpass adversity in life.

PERSONAL HERO:

My mother. She has demonstrated that hard work really does pay off and that anything can be accomplished through determination and will power.

I’M BETTER THAN ANYONE AT COOKING UP:

A good old-fashioned debate. I feel it is the best way to contest ideas and ultimately share knowledge between the parties involved.

WHO WILL PLAY ME IN THE MOVIE BASED ON MY CAREER:

Leonardo DiCaprio. He is able to play a wide range of roles in a very successful film career. I can only hope to reflect this sort of versatility in the professional realm.

PRIZED POSSESSION:

While it is cliché, my most prized possession is life. You never know how quickly it can be taken away.
